How we developed LABWay Math
Our story
In 2012, we set out to build better education for people of limited means in Southeast Asia.
At first, as with most schools, we failed to ensure that all our students learned Math well. About 10% of them really understood it, while the rest struggled, and stumbled through. And no parent wants their child to struggle, and stumble through Math.
So, we didn’t accept this reality. We believe every child can understand and use Math well, the same way we expect them to be able to read, write, speak & listen.
We iterated with Constructivist principles to discover our Logic b4 Procedure™, math coaching method. We discovered 3 principles that make math work:
- Children learn to think mathematically when they tackle logic before procedure.
- Children learn to think mathematically when they are engaged in meaningful and interesting conversations about math.
- Children learn to think mathematically when they work with a math coach.
This is what we do at LABWay Math. We changed Math for thousands in Southeast Asia. Now, we will change math for your family.
